LOGLINE The fragile existence of Ercek Village built on years of collective forgetting, begins to shatter when a thawing lake magically awakens long-buried memories.
SYNOPSIS Ercek Village is an eerie place built around a lake they call "Donar" (The Freezer), which has been frozen for years. Here, the dead are forgotten; no names are carved on gravestones. However, unlike the others, middle-school-aged Ahmet remembers the dead.
With the unexpected thawing of Donar, two children unknown to anyone in the village emerge. Following a fire, Tunç, a young gendarme dispatched to investigate, realizes these children are connected to a dark event from the past. His amateur investigation leads to child labor in the local mine and crimes erased from the village's collective memory. As people begin to remember, unrest grows, and suppressed guilt surfaces.
Once Donar melts, the village's false cheer vanishes. Ahmet cooperates with Tunç to reverse the unfolding chaos. As Tunç gets closer to the truth, he realizes this is not an isolated incident, but a crime silently shared by the entire village. It’s Not Good For You is an atmospheric tale exploring forgetting as a shield, and remembering as an inevitable reckoning.
